Hi, i have the following problem.
I installed prestashop 1.7.1.2 with softaculous and i am not able to upgrade it. I test a fresh prestashop installation from zero be my self, and i was able to upgrade it to 1.7.2.2, using 1 click upgrade module.
The problem, is that i have a lot of work in 1.7.1.2 and i dont want to lose it… and start all over again.
Is there a way to save all my work and migrate to a new fresh install? theme, producto, pages, etc…
I know that this is not a theme problem.
thanksHi,
You said that you did a lot of work in 1.7.1.2, what kinda of work? Adding products and categories? Or editing files.
All your settings, product, images, etc are safe. Just keep in mind that if you’ve edited any files directly then you’ll lose your changes, you have to manually merge your changes into the latest version.Regards,
JonnyThanks Jonny for the quickly response.
I am concern about merge a few files… but who do i export all the theme settings?
design > theme > Export current theme? or there is another way?i am thinking to buy this module https://addons.prestashop.com/en/data-migration-backup/8934-migrationpro-prestashop-to-prestashop-migration-tool.html but it doesn’t migrate the theme.
thanks!
RegardsHi,
Why would you want o exporting&importing all settings. No need to do that, no need to use a module also.
Do you just want to upgrade your site? Then take the following steps:
1. Make a backup your site files and database.
2. Upgrade your site to 1.7.2.2 using the 1-click upgrade.
3. Find modified files from the backup, and then merge changes to files from 1.7.2.2 by using tools like WinMerge http://winmerge.org/Regards,

RegardsHi,
You can manually upgrade your site to 1.7.1.2. I never used the 1-click upgrade module. I will create a tutorial the other day.
You can find a tutorial on http://doc.prestashop.com/display/PS17/User+Guide
Here is a short version.
1. Backup your site files and database.
2. Unzip PrestaShop 1.7.2.3 to a folder /new/, change the name of admin folder to yours. Copy the /app/config/parameters.php file from your site to the /new/app/config/ folder.
3. Zip everything in the /new/ folder, upload the .zip to your site’s root folder, and then unzip it.
4. Open http://youdomain.com/install/upgrade/upgrade.php, you will get messages to show the result. Hope you get all okays. If you get error, check what’s wrong before starting all over again.
5. Remove the /install/ folder.Regards,
JonnyHi,

I too think it would be good to have an export function for all the settings in the theme editor. There are so many settings and it already happened to me that everything was reset for some reason. It would be great to have a backup option for being able to restore everything (similar to the import settings fort the demo install). There are so many settings that it is hard work to restore it all.
That’s not a perfect updating.
If you want everything to be perfect, then restore and try these two
1. Enable debug module to see if there are any messages in the source code of that page.
2. Edit the /install/upgrade/upgrade.php file
Replace this code
if (!$upgrade->hasFailure()) {
By this one$has_failure = $upgrade->hasFailure(); if (empty($has_failure)) {
Regards,
JonnyJonny, i did what you ask me. same result…
<html><head></head><body><div id="extension-kmmojbkhfhninkelnlcnliacgncnnikf-installed"></div></body></html>
Also i check the upgrade log in public_html/app/logs/prod and is OK, no errors
Any ideas? is ok? or is something wrong?
Thanks for the help!Attachments:
