Hi!
I run a SEO test on our website and it is giving some critical errors and some warnings that may have to be solve.
I think it’s something related to which URL is canonical but I don’t have much idea about it.
Here it what SEO report says:
“The search engines consider their https://www.xxxxx.es and https://www.xxxxx.es/index.html (or https://www.xxxxx.es/index.php) as different pages.
If you do not explicitly inform Google which URL is canonical, Google will make the decision for you, or you may consider that both have the same weight, which could generate unwanted behavior.
To consolidate duplicate URLs, use the Google article.
You can access your site in two ways: http://example.com or http://example.com/index.html(or .php). Only one way should be used. Both ways is incorrec”
Could you please help us or indicate how to fix this error?
Thanks!!!!
Hi,
As Prestashop doesn’t add the “canonical” for some pages, that requires to modify Prestashop core file, so I suggest you use a 3rd party module: https://addons.prestashop.com/en/url-redirects/21749-canonical-urls-to-avoid-duplicate-content-seo.html, I didn’t test it, you can contact the module developer to get more info.
Best regards.
I’ve purchased 3rd party module but when I’ve intalled, then Rel = “canonical” section that was duplicated.
I’ve contact with module developer and they made a change on your theme:
The change made has been to comment lines 39 to 43 of the file “/themes/transformer/templates/_partials/head.tpl”
Just in case you want to know it.
