Tagged: blog recent-articles
Hello,
PS 1.7.6.4 + Panda 2.4.9 I am in the middle of building the blog section of the site, especially the list of blog posts and the recent articles in the sidebar (right column).
I have three issues as seen in the attached screenshot:
#1 In list of posts, a block of a post is organized in this order: Cover image, Title, Date, Short content. However, on the post page the order is: Title, Date, Cover image, Short content. I want the order of the list of posts to be same as the order on the post page. How can I do that? I could not find any options to reorder any of these.
#2 In the title, the tails of letters like y, p, etc… are cropped off. It is because
.s_title_block {overflow: hidden;}
Looks like it is a bug.
#3 And most importantly: I do not need thumbnails in the list of Recent Articles. How can they be turned off? Also, as you can see, they do not even show up. The 32thumb.jpg is accessible via its direct URL, but the swiper cannot load it, even though the data-src attribute is there.
Please help.
Thanks in advance,
Szabesz
1. See attached pic, edit the \modules\stblog\views\templates\slider\post.tpl file to move that code up.
2. That’s indeed a bug. To fix it, you need to replace this code in the \modules\stblogeditor\stblogeditor.php file
$css .='.block_blog .s_title_block a{font-size: '.$name_size.'px;}';
With
$css .='.block_blog .s_title_block{font-size: '.$name_size.'px;}';
The fix will be included in next theme update.
3. Upgrade your theme to the latest version to fix it.
Hello Jonny, thanks for your help.
Issue #1 was solved by moving not just what you marked by the red rectangle but by also moving:
{if $stblog.display_date ||...
because I also need to move the date above the image (only the date is shown in my case).
Issue #2: I applied the fix, thanks.
Issue #3: I upgraded to v2.5.0 but it did not fix the bug, the lazy loaded images still do not show up. I cleared the Smarty cache, even though it is currently off and also set to “Force compilation”.
Anyway, as I stated above, my is issue is not about the bug but the appearance of the images themselves. I do not need the images at all as they do not fit in the sidebar. If there is no way to turn them off, do I need to modify another file(s) perhaps?
3. I can’t reproduce it, see attached pic.
Have you ever edited any theme files? Are you using a child theme?
Try setting the “Lazy load” setting to NO under the “Left column” tab in the “Recent articles” moudle.
If the problem still exists, then send me your site back office and ftp login details.
Hello Jonny,
Thanks for you reply. I do not use a child theme and I DID edit some theme files, but only by using your guidelines you and Yobo posted in various support topics of mine during the last few days.
Anyway, as I explained above, I am not really interested in fixing issue #3, mostly because I do not need the images, secondly I do not have time to deal with them right now. Unfortunately I have a deadline to produce the site, so I am forced to ignore whatever we do not need to deal with, such as these images.
I just need to get rid of the images in the first place. Can you please help to achieve that?
Thanks in advance,
Szabesz
Hello Jonny,
Thanks for the CSS hack it works! However, please consider adding an option to actually turn it off in the module configuration (on the Left or right column tab, I guess).
It is a lot more efficient if the images and the related HTML bits are not downloaded in the first place. Also, managing these hacks can become a challenge, even though I am recording them properly and I already have a plan on how to keep them when upgrading.
