Hello!
As I can see, on the category pagination pages, the canonical tag on each page points to the same page.
Example on demo site http://transformer2.sunnytoo.com
The first page: of the category has the correct canonical tag:
https://prnt.sc/g6CeW8UYiqL5
The second page:
https://prnt.sc/ue_qF-_zxpmT
According to the recommendations of my SEO experts, on each pagination page, the canonical tag should point to the first page.
Please help me change the canonical tags settings.
Hello.
I added this code.
But after that I got the following tag on the 2nd page:
<link rel="canonical" href="https://site.com/uk/category/?page=2?page=2">
But it should be like this on all pages:
<link rel="canonical" href="https://site.com/uk/category/">
Now the canonical tags on category page are made like this:
https://site.com/category/
<link rel=”canonical” href=”https://site.com/category/”>
https://site.com/category/?page=2
<link rel=”canonical” href=”https://site.com/category/?page=2″>
https://site.com/category/?page=3
<link rel=”canonical” href=”https://site.com/category/?page=3″>
And I need to do it like this:
https://site.com/category/
<link rel=”canonical” href=”https://site.com/category/”>
https://site.com/category/?page=2
<link rel=”canonical” href=”https://site.com/category/”>
https://site.com/category/?page=3
<link rel=”canonical” href=”https://site.com/category/”>
etc…
Hi,
Please modify the file as mentioned: https://www.sunnytoo.com/forums/topic/canonical-settings-on-category-pages/#post-148096, just change “$page > 1” to “0”, don’t added that code I gave you before.
Best regards.
