I have purchased the “ImageMagick for PrestaShop with AJAX generator high quality images” module and installed it on my Prestashop 1.7.5.2. However I do not seem to get the result as I wanted. Thumb, list and product images are still blurry to me + they automatically convert to JPG even though I in the settings has set the file format to PNG only.
I hope you will help me in getting the module to function properly.
Best regards
Jens
Two reasons of why images are still blurry on your site.
1. Images get resized, see attached pic.
More info here https://www.sunnytoo.com/12688/sharp-clear-product-images-prestashop
2. Check #8 in the documentation section on this page https://www.sunnytoo.com/product/imagemagick-prestashop-ajax-generator-high-quality-images
1. See attached pic, You still didn’t get my point, a crisp and sharp image will look blurry if it get resized.
In your case, the main image container is 482.5px in width. So you need to reduce the size of “large_default” image type from 708 to 482 or 483, don’t forget to regenerate thumbnails for large_default and clear your browser cache to check the result.
You need to try both 482 and 483, our themes can handle 0.5px quite well, they will use 482. But you theme didn’t do anything about that. An image will look blurry even if it just get resized for 1px. Currently large_default images get resized for about 226px, that’s why there are blurry.
2. About why the module uses .jpg, check #1 in the documentation section on this page https://www.sunnytoo.com/product/prestashop-animated-gif-module-resize-gif-product-images
3. I am working on checking it, will soon let you know the result.
See attached pic, images are still resized, see they are scaled up for 1px.
I asked you to try both 482 and 483, it seems you didn’t try 483.
Change the size of “large_default” image type 483, and then regenerate thumbnails for large_default and clear your browser cache to check the result.
I’ve seen you changed from 482 and 483, but the main gallery images gets resized down this time, an quite odd behavior of browsers, see attached pic.
The main image container is 482.5px in width, that’s the source of all problems, so we need to set it width to 482 to fix all problem. Take these steps:
1. Put this custom css code to your site.
.product-cover{max-width:482px;}
If your theme doesn’t have a csutom css code feature, then you can use this free module to add the code to your site without editing any files.
2. Change the size of “large_default” image type back to 482.
3. Regenerate thumbnails for large_default and clear your browser cache to check the result.
My colleague YOBO have take over theproblem of “physically big”, he will write to your when he gets a result.
