Hi,
In Canada, it is illegal as a store/vendor to not display separated taxes.
Taxes vary from province to province and MUST be displayed as:
1) two separate lines for provinces that have Federal Tax + Provincial Tax.
2) one line for provinces that have one Tax
Is there a way to display:
1) 2 separate Tax lines (on Shopping Card, Checkout page, Invoice) for Tax rules that have 2 combined taxes with appropriate Tax labels?
2) display correct tax label from Tax rules (not general “taxes” label) for single taxes and for combination of multiple taxes?
Thanks,
Sergiy
Hi,
Please view my module, maybe it meets your needs: https://www.sunnytoo.com/product/second-price-prestashop-module-show-tax-included-tax-excluded-price
Best regards.
Hi yobo,
this module is doing completely different thing: it is showing two prices : price with tax and price without tax on product page.
I need to show multiple tax lines (not product price) in the Shopping Card, Checkout page and Invoice and pass these separate taxes to PayPal. It is a law here in Canada to show separate taxes on separate lines. The current version of Prestashop/Transformer shows the single Tax line with the title “Taxes:”
Sample (see screen shot):
Subtotal (excluding taxes) CA$50.00
Shipping Free $0.00
Taxes GST CA$2.50
Taxes PST CA$4.88
TOTAL (tax incl) CA$57.38
If you could create this module, I believe, all your customers from Canada would appreciate it.
Thanks,
Sergiy
Hi yobo,
There are two tax scenarios that applies to Canada:
CA – 5% – federal tax (global Canadian tax)
CA-A – 10% – province #1
CA-B – 20% – province #2
CA-C – 30% – province #3
…….
[SCENARIO #1]
The shipping address from “Province #1”
Tax rule for Province #1: “Combined” taxes CA + CA-A
Then the result on the shopping cart below:
Subtotal (excluding taxes) CA$50.00
Shipping Free $10.00
Tax CA (5%): CA$3.00
Tax CA-A (10%) CA$6.00
TOTAL (tax incl) CA$69.00
CA registration# xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
CA-A registration# xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Then the customer will pay you $69 via PayPal
[SCENARIO #2]
The shipping address from “Province #2”
Tax rule for Province #2: “Single” Tax only: CA-B
Then the result on the shopping cart below:
Subtotal (excluding taxes) CA$50.00
Shipping Free $10.00
Tax CA-B (20%) CA$12.00
TOTAL (tax incl) CA$72.00
CA-B registration# xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Then the customer will pay you $72 via PayPal
My understanding that it is Prestashop Core algorithm calculates all appropriate taxes and pass them into Cart/Invoices and Paypal modules. The change in the theme to separate Taxes inside of smarty templates could resolve so paintfull issue for all your Canadian customers.
– It is again the Canadian law do not show separate taxes in shopping cart and invoices.
– The law also required to show the tax registration# on invoices (each tax has it is own registration #)
(Tax Rules have “Description” field for each Tax. this description field could contain the Tax registration# to show it below Total line if Description is not EMPTY)
If you would be able to create a module or add an additional functionality into your theme for Canadian customers – all your Canadian customers will appreciate it. Or maybe there are other counties with 2 taxes.
Regards,
Sergiy
HI yobo,
I contacted Prestashop core team and received response that they will try to do it in the Prestashop 1.7.6 release.
https://github.com/PrestaShop/PrestaShop/issues/9999
Let’s wait and see the fix in 1.7.6. You would probably have to modify transformer’s templates to accommodate their change.
regards,
Sergiy
