Hi,
We are struggling to take our website out of the red area regarding performance metrics in the mobile version (We are doing just OK on the Desktop). As 80% of the visits are coming from mobile devices we need to try any change we have for optimizing the site.
One key opportunity seems to be the file cache/theme-f4f922221.css that appears both on “Eliminate render-blocking resources” and “Remove unused CSS” in the PageSpeed report for Mobile version (see attached image)
Woud it be possible for you to give some advice or link another post or article where measures to tackle these opportunites can be found? We are getting around 30 on the PageSpeed test, where “normal” starts to be at 50.
Thank you
Hi Yobo, thanks for your reply.
Regarding performance and this cache file i have two questions:
Question 1: Does having a module installed but disabled (It shows “Enable” instead of “Configure” or “Disable” in the Back-office module manager) has any kind of affection? It it much better to uninstall the module rather than having it just “Disabled”? I have some modules from Panda collection that I will not be using and I just have them Disabled:
Advanced Instagram Feed
Currency Selector block mod
Facebook page plugin
New Products Slider
Top Sellers Sliders
QR Code
Social Share buttons
Twitter Embedded Timelines
Top Sellers Sliders
Will I gain performance if I totally uninstall them? Will I be able to install them back in case I need them?
Question 2: I see there are some modules from the default PrestaShop installation that have an “equivalent” in Panda collection.
Panda module Default PS module
Newsletter Popup Newsletter
Shopping Cart mod Shopping Cart
Theme Editor Theme Customization
Mega-Menu Main Menu
Search bar mod Search bar
I think for example with newsletter PopUp that I cannot delete Newsletter default module because they have dependencies.
Can I uninstall any of the other modules from the default PS installation with no impact on the shop?
Is there any default PS module that you know of that I can safely uninstall?
Thank you very much
