Tagged: category search
I found 2 additional issues related to the Category search module:
10) IE11 – the “search our category” text shifted to the bottom a little bit (see screen shot)
if you put cursor inside the text search and then move out -> the text shifted back to the correct middle position.
11) Edge – the corners between drop-down list and text element are not aligned (see screen shot)
Conditions: Input Box: empty, Combo-box: selected new catalog. Action: automatically show products in this catalog on catalog page (the same way as you clicked on this catalog from menu)
I don’t think it’s a good idea for two reasons.
a) This is a search module, I don’t want to mix it up with Menu module.
b) Sometimes people just want to select a category first, and then fill in search box, in that case, redirecting to search page to show products from selected category would take about 2 seconds, which would cause troubles for people to fill in search box.
6. Thanks for your code.
7 Use this code, I will add an option for that in next update.
8 I will add compatibility with the “Sidebar and mobile header bar” module in next theme update.
11 I can’t reproduce it.
Thanks again for all your reportings and suggestions.
for now I found one major bug for both mobile and desktop versions.
When you change the category, the drop-down list stays open. You could see that JS throws exception.
The next refresh shows that the selected category was not remembered.
I disabled your module on my site since I do not want to roll back the whole site.
You could enable the new search and disable the old one to test.
Could you fix it ASAP? I already deployed it to production site and do not want to roll it back.

regarding #11 -layout issue in Microsoft browser “Edge”.
Please see screen shots. You would see that the height of drop-down and text box are different in EDGE browser!
There is no issue in Chrome – the total height is the same.
Could you open my site in Edge to see this issue?
