I had to remove all products from the Manufactured goods category and subcategories
and then import all products into these categories again.
After that a lot of products will be redirected to empty start page.
I think it has something to do with your PrestaShop removing IDs from URLs & SEO friendly url module.
Since prior to installing the module, similar operations did not lead to problems.
Please help to fix the problem.
Best regards, Viaceslav.
As there are more than 1000 products have the same meta URL, the original URLs are:
If the ID was removed from the URL, all products have the same URL http://www.domain.com/product.html, that will be pointed to the same product. it is very hard to changes so many meta URLs to be unique, so my module provided an “Add reference” option to the URL to avoid the issue. buy all your reference is the format 49180394-24-90 or 38120063_48, Prestashop will change all hyphen and underline to slash, the reference code will become 49180394/24/90 or 38120063/48 in the URL, the friendly URLs as below:
Still have numbers on the URL, they are similar to the original URLs.
But the changes will cause an issue, Prestashop can’t parse the correct URL to get the relevant product, as the reference code was changed, Prestashop doesn’t know the reference should be 49180394-24-90 or 49180394_24_90 or 49180394-24_90, it is confusing. that is why I un-tick the “product”. but the module removed ID from URLs for other pages(category, CMS, blog, and so on).
There are two solutions:
1. Changed meta URLs to be unique, but too many products.
2. Use the “Fix reference” option on my module, that will remove all hyphen and underline from your reference code. while your suppliers need to keep them.
I will investigate whether there is the third solution can resolve the issue.
Do you mind I add a static word(such as p or r or ref) in your product URLs? product URLs will be as following:
