Hi,
@alwayspaws The transformer V3 didn’t has the video module.
Best regards.Another thing,
When I add a video for a product directly from product page, it is not set to my new default.
And, other positions seem are not working.
For example, When I set the video position to Bottom right, or right side of product name, or price, it does not show in the product page.
Or when I set it to top left of the product image, it still appears in the bottom leftHi Yobo,
I downloaded the update v2.2.3, thank you, and I read the online documentation on how to update the module, but there are some questions:
1. I downloaded the WinMerge software but I don’t know what to do. Do I have to copy & paste old files and folders into updated folders or vice versa?
2. Do I have to do this in my computer and then upload it to server?
3. Do I have to do the module and theme configurations again? For example, I made some changes in size chart and videos module, and now you made some changes in the module update, which, if I merge this module with the old one, would replace the new one. So, what happens to my configurations, either from within the module in BO, or directly in the files on the server?Sorry I’m just a newbie in these concepts.
Best Regards
Hi,
1. Did you modify any files directly ? if no you don’t need to merge files, just upload the upadte to2.2.3.zip to your installation root folder, then extract it by cpanel > File manage, after that, go to BO > Module list page, if any modules need to be upgraded, just click the “Upgrade” button for them, that’s all.
2. If you modify any theme files, just download the modified files from your server or your backup, and use the winmerge to compare this files, and migrate your changes to the new files, how to use winmerge: http://manual.winmerge.org/Compare_files.html
3. All your settings are safe, but please make full files and databases before any update, if there was error occurred, you can restore your store via the backup.
Best regards.Hi,
I’m not sure what would be considered as a modification.
I have changed some code in some files, just those you and Jonny said, like for example:I opened: /modules/stvideo/stvideo.php file in a text editor, and changed line 815 to ‘default_value’ => 7, instead of ‘default_value’ => 9, just as you said in this very topic (look at you first reply to my question up in this page), so do you consider this a modification?
If yes, I made some more modifications to some other files as well, but the problem is I don’t really remember which file I modified before. Is there a way to do this safer and faster?
Best Regards
Hi,
Yes, it is a modification, after you upload the modified files, you did the original files backup ? if yes,you can download modified files and their original files, and use the Winmerge to compare this files, then you will know what code you modified, please view the documentation of the Winmerge: http://manual.winmerge.org/Compare_files.html. there isn’t other faster way, as it requires to upload new version to override all old files, so all file modifications will be lost, you need to add them again.
PS: if you want to modify a file, I suggest you create a same folder on your local to backup the modified files, and add some comments in the files where you modified, after that, when you uploading the theme, you can find which files and where you modified them, then you can do same modification quickly.
Best regards.@yobo It sounds complicated but every time I modify a file I first download it from my server via FTP. Make a local copy, rename it filename-old (example) and upload the old and modified files back to the server.
On my hard drive I have a folder / directory named modified files. In that folder I create a subfolder for each type of modification such as “Amazon Pay hook”.
That’s how I keep track of my changed files.
I cannot figure out a better way to keep track.
Hi,
@alwayspaws Yes, I recommend the same way with you, as @karizmatics forgot some changes, so I recommend the winmeger to compare and find out where modified.
Best regards.@yobo I am on a Mac so I’m going to try BBEdit to compare the files.
Hi,
@alwayspaws @karizmatics okay, thanks and good luck.
