Hi,
I’m running a store with Prestashop 1.7.6.1 and Panda 2.4.8.
I am using stshoppingcart to display the customer cart and have changed the description ‘Shipping’ to ‘Estimated Shipping’ as until the customer has chosen their delivery method and entered their address, the shipping charge can only be estimated. See first attachment.
At checkout after the customer has confirmed delivery method etc I want the text to say ‘Shipping’ but I cannot find where to change that separately – see second attachment.
Please can you suggest a solution?
Thanks
Ian
Thanks for the reply Yobo.
Exactly as you say – I changed ‘Shipping’ and it changed it everywhere. But that is not what I want.
Can I make it say ‘Estimated Shipping’ before the user has selected their delivery method, then ‘Shipping’ afterwards?
Alternatively can I put a pop-up help text against the word ‘Shipping’ so I can explain?
Thanks
Ian
How did you done that? Buy using the translation system?
You can edit the \modules\stshoppingcart\views\templates\hook\stshoppingcart-list.tpl file to achieve that.
Replace this {$subtotal.label} with {if $subtotal.type === ‘shipping’}{l s=’Estimated Shipping’ d=’Shop.Theme.Panda’}{else}{$subtotal.label}{/if}
Hi Jonny,
Thank you for the reply.
Yes I used the translation module BO/International/Translations/theme/classic/shop/theme/checkout and then changed ‘Shipping’ to ‘Estimated Shipping’. This improved conversion as customers were not abandoning so much when the shipping cost was confirmed as higher than originally shown for default shipping method.
I’ve now made the change you suggested but unfortunately it hasn’t worked. See attachment. The customer has chosen their address and delivery cost can be confirmed as based on postcode but it still says ‘Estimated Shipping’.
Can you help further please?
Thanks
Ian
Thank you so much for your help so far but sorry Jonny, I spoke too soon. It is better but not quite right.
As the customer is entering their address ‘Estimated Shipping’ changes to ‘Shipping’. See screenshot.
What can I do please?
Ian
Hi,
“changed the description ‘Shipping’ to ‘Estimated Shipping’ as until the customer has chosen their delivery method and entered their address”, that is what you want. if the customer enters the address, the “Estimated Shipping” should be changed to “Shipping”. I saw your screenshot, it was right.
Best regards.
Hi,
No the customer has not yet entered their address – on the screenshot you can see that the address details are blank.
But the description says ‘shipping’.
I am trying to say ‘estimated shipping’ until the customer has entered their postcode which drives selection of carrier and confirms shipping cost.
Sorry if I am not explaining this very well.
Ian
