Tagged: theme editor, visual composer
I have an issue with Visual composer and Theme editor: the first overrides everything what is set in the second. Like, whatever i set as button preferences (colors etc) in theme editor, this is overridden by Visual composer, forcing me to set everything again from custom.css – resulting in a stylesheet mess.
Is there a solution for this?
Hi
What i meant is:
1) that buttons inserted by VC are different than the ones that come with the theme, and somehow you should integrate VC better into your theme (set rules in theme.css for wpb_ buttons or alter VC ti use your stylesheets for buttons like btn_primary)
2) the order of the CSS files should be: js_composer.css -> theme.css -> customer-s1.css (back office preferences) and than custom.css (what is set manually in assets folder). I know this is complex to track, but in some cases js_composer overrides theme.css and customer-s1.css forcing user to add rules in custom.css, reuslting in a complete css override mess.
And i guess it’s the same in case of other elements too.
Take wordpress for an example: VC is integrated seamlessly in some themes, so whatever element i chose it will blend into the theme. This should also be done in Yours / Prestashop case.
Thanks
PS: manage this as solved as i did my overrides from custom.css
Thanks for your suggestion. I will consider to make buttons in VC to be the same as other buttons.
theme.css is always the first get loaded, so css files added by modules can override css rules in theme.css.
customer-s1.css is always the last one to get loaded.
What I don’t understand is that you said “The Visual composer overrides everything”. It won’t overrides anything, because it uses prefix to avoid overridings, like .vc_ .wpb_
Hi
Yes i realized later that VC does not override buttons, as it’s creating it’s own. Confusion was because i created button styles from transformer preferences, but when i added buttons from VC it had no effect and all was on default. So all my edits were not taken into consideration by VC.
Best would be not to use custom.css at all, so you could add style overrides for VC into customer-s1.css. That would fix a lot.
Thanks
