I found the change log for Transformer 3 for PS 1.6 on that page. Thanks. I have version 3.2.9. Transformer theme is up to 3.3.4 (November 26, 2017)
Is there an easy updater available for Transformer 3 or documentation on how to update it? Mainly interested in not overwriting files that I’ve changed. How do I prevent that so I don’t lose my work?
Should I put this in a new forum post?
Hi,
Do you know all files you’ve edit? If yes, it’s easy to upgrade yours site. Take these steps
1. Unzip v3.3.4.
2. Compare files you’ve edited with the ones from v3.3.4, you can use winmerge or other similar tools, there are also online tools to compare files.
3. Merge your changes to files from v3.3.4.
4. Upload all files from v3.3.4 to your site to replace old ones.
5. Go to BO > Modules page, modules will be upgrade automatically.
6. That’s all.
If you don’t files you’ve changed, you just need to do one more step to find them out.
I use svn. You can try other software, to compare files under the /modules and /themes/transformer/ with files from 3.2.9 to find edited ones out. The rest steps are the same.
Regards,
Jonny
I mostly know the files I’ve changed and I have several CSS custom codes that I can copy and save.
Does upgrading the theme have anything to do with my categories and products database because that’s where I may run into trouble. I have a development version of my site so I’ll try with that one first.
Thanks very much!
